Meet our Green Rebels

In 2025 we will follow a group of awesome home growers. We call them Green Rebels. We look forward to sharing their small-scale growing journey on their terms. Inspiration, tips and maybe a few mistakes. Just as it should be.
Please follow their growing journeys on @punkgarden_ and Facebook.
Jens from HelsingborgJens is a passionate home gardener and cook who likes to make everything from scratch in the kitchen. He has grown in his small backyard in pallet collars and in pots on the kitchen steps, but lacks his own herbs for his cooking. Jens enjoys experimenting with growing, both out in the yard and inside his kitchen windows. This year he is extra keen to focus more on growing and creating a green oasis with both herbs and vegetables, to get even more fresh ingredients into his cooking. |

Linn from Rödeby Linn is a gardener, teacher and gardening enthusiast. She works with gardens both as an entrepreneur and as a teacher in forestry, soil and animals. Not a beginner but not a gardening professional either – just a real enthusiast who loves to get people to dare to try. "Take a chance, don't make a fuss about it!" is her motto, both at work and at home. This year there will be pots facing south, tomatoes, chili and something fun for and with the kids – maybe melon! |
Malin Fredrika from KristinehamnHere we have a punk-loving Green Rebel who is an illustrator and artist. Malin Fredrika lives in an apartment with a glassed-in balcony in Kristinehamn. She would like to bring more cultivation into her life. With an interest that alternates between passion and experiment, she loves to grow in pots and does it a little on volleyball – and preferably together with her 5-year-old daughter who she loves to "plant" with (i.e. get dirty with soil 😊 ). |

The bus from Stockholm Here we have Bixen who now lives in Stockholm. Punk changed his life and he has played in several bands. Now he has more instruments than ever but plays less than before. He shares a small apartment and a tiny balcony with Sarri and Ovidi (two wonderful cats from Skåne) and with Lucy (a Labrador Retriever who speaks both Swedish and Mongolian). This year Bixen will focus on growing Chili and Basil. |
Cecilia from MoraCecilia lives in an apartment in Mora with a balcony, south-facing windows and a green area where she has her little grow room. She has a great interest in plants and likes to document them, and now she wants to try growing more on her balcony and in her pallet collars. Her interest in growing also comes from doing it together with her children, who are happy to help with growing strawberries and pea pods. Cecilia likes sowing seeds and is open to trying new plants, although she has sometimes had problems with the warm balcony where the plants have previously had difficulty surviving. |
Marina from Lidköping Green Rebel Marina lives in an apartment in Lidköping with her partner and loves growing on her balcony, even though she is a beginner. Every season she learns new things and looks forward to developing her growing skills. This year she plans to grow tomatoes, chili, herbs and flowers in pots and balcony boxes to create a green oasis on the balcony. Sofie from KöpingSay hello to Sofie, a mother of two and a nurse who grows vegetables on her balcony in Köping. She grows vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and spices, and has also tried chili. At her workplace there is a glass-enclosed balcony where she continues her growing journey. Sofie is looking forward to developing her crops even further in 2025 and creating her own green balcony oasis.

Cecilia from Bohuslän
Cecilia has built her own small house in the country and is passionate about growing for self-sufficiency. With a flowering vegetable garden and a vision of a flowering vegetable garden, she combines the edible with the beautiful. She has tested everything from tomatoes to cuttings and dreams of a lush oasis on her balcony. Cecilia loves to create and inspire – both for her own sake and for the sake of others.
