Ezpeleta is a fairly strong and tasty chili variety with great fruitiness. The plant grows to about 60-80 cm high and produces a good harvest of 11-13 cm long, conical fruits that turn shiny dark red when fully ripe. Introduced in southern France's Basque Country by Gonzalo Percaztegi in 1523. One of the best varieties for chili powder.
