An easy-to-grow and abundantly producing summer squash that produces straight lemon yellow fruits with nutty and buttery tasting flesh. It was probably refined in the eastern United States during the 1930s. The fruits can be up to 25 cm long but taste best if harvested and cooked before they are full size.
