Tobacco Alida

It is called Alida, Åhus or Åhushavanna - the tobacco that "Mother" Alida Olsson in Yngsjö is said to have saved seeds from when the last Swedish tobacco farm was shut down in 1964. Durable and fast-growing, it suits our latitudes perfectly. Beautiful with clear small flowers and worth growing even if it should not end up in a pipe or under the lip. Pre-germinate superficially before sowing in e.g. drift bench - do not cover the seed. Planted out in May/June after softening.
